CCAA Fuel Farm Improvements
Charleston International Airport is a key commercial and military gateway for the Lowcountry, supporting passenger travel and air-cargo operations. To keep pace with growing demand, the airport upgraded its aviation fuel storage and distribution systems with new tanks, piping, and safety infrastructure.
Atlantic Electric delivered the electrical scope, demolishing existing grounding and lighting systems and disconnecting obsolete circuits and motors. The team installed underground electrical ductbanks, power and control circuits, conduit, junction boxes, grounding, motor connections, panelboards, transformers, switches, NEMA enclosures, and equipment supports. Additional work included emergency fuel shut-off valves, stop devices, pump control panels with new MCC breakers, a cathodic-protection system with AC supply, and enhanced site lighting.
