Lower Berkeley WWTP Aeration Systems Improvements

The Lower Berkeley Wastewater Treatment Plant supports wastewater treatment operations for Berkeley County’s residential and commercial sectors. To improve reliability and efficiency, aeration system upgrades and electrical infrastructure modernization were critical to meeting service needs and supporting long-term growth.

Atlantic Electric’s electrical work involved demolition of outdated equipment, installation of a new 3,000kW generator system, prefabricated electrical control buildings with 27kV switchgear, switchboards, transformers, RVSS starters, and blower control panels. Atlantic also installed aboveground aluminum conduit raceways, an underground concrete duct bank system, fiber optic communications, a reworked 35kV distribution loop, and comprehensive grounding and lightning protection systems.
