Construct Consolidated Base Administration Facility

USCG Base Charleston is developing a new Consolidated Base Administration Facility to centralize command and administrative operations. Designed for sustainability and compliance, the building supports efficient workflow and long-term energy performance for the Coast Guard’s regional headquarters.

Atlantic Electric furnished the electrical systems, including temporary power and lighting, medium-voltage underground distribution, and interior electrical distribution equipment. The team installed a generator with automatic transfer switches, branch power and equipment connections, and feeds for mechanical systems. Interior, exterior, and site lighting with controls were provided, along with fire alarm and mass-notification systems, telecommunications infrastructure, and security measures such as CCTV, intrusion detection, and access control. Additional work included lightning protection, counterpoise and grounding, seismic supports, and commissioning of all electrical equipment.
